About
The E.R.A. Security Guard Department is a private institution established on campus grounds to maintain law and order among students and staff alike. While the Electi Rehabilitation Academy is a federally sponsored facility, the academy itself hires and owns the entire Department personnel, allowing its guards to operate under civil law, yet function outside of most government regulations and jurisdictions.
Following the tragic stabbing and resignation of former Chief Colt, the Department struggled to fill the power vacuum for years. Many units operated independently, with some guards doing the work of ten officers while others sat idle for weeks, if not months. To restore order, Chancellor Gerald “Big Arm” Ivory appointed Quetz A. Coatl as Chief of Security, placing them in command of all three major branches: The Guard Force, Emergency Forces, and Special Forces.
Now, under Quetz’s leadership, the Department is beginning to see steps toward restructuring, especially tightening the chain of command. While campus life at ERA remains chaotic as ever, students can at least count on seeing the guards below first when things go wrong (which, most days, they do).
Guard Force
The Guard Force is the main garrison of ERA’s security network, responsible for domestic affairs, public safety, and day-to-day enforcement within academy grounds. This particular squad is widely recognized among students for its effectiveness (and occasional over-involvement) in major campus incidents:
- Charles Walker: Squad Captain
- Joan Ashanworth:
Desk JockeyComms, Logistics, Overwatch - Oliver Alkwin: Surveillance & Patrols
- Jett Makani: Rookie/Field Medic
- Suzy Bolton: Detective
Emergency Forces
A specialized division of guards trained and equipped to handle unusual, large-scale, or Electi-related crises. Units are deployed upon escalation of campus conflicts, when standard guard units are overwhelmed or when anomalous activity is detected on campus. Much of their gear consists of repurposed or discontinued Vitric technology.
Environmental Hazards Unit
A sub-branch of Emergency Forces tasked with managing natural disasters and large-scale environmental crises—wildfires, earthquakes, floods, and Montana’s notorious winter storms among them.
- Fynn Frei: EH Squad Captain
- Cyra Sodhi: EH Specialist
Special Forces
The most classified of ERA’s three security branches. Unlike the others, Special Forces primarily operate directly under Administration’s authority rather than through the main Department hierarchy. Their missions often extend beyond academy grounds, focusing on preemptive containment and off-site Electi threats, or preventing external threats from endangering Electi and the school. Little is known about their structure, but when agents are seen on campus, they’re typically off-duty or between operations.
- Claude Evans: Field Operations (Often seen in collaboration with Walker’s squad.)
